Only 42 miles west of Denver, Empire and the surrounding Historic communities of Georgetown, Silver Plume, Idaho Springs, and Central City are living visions of a colorful mining past. This is also a climbers paradise as three of the 14,000 feet high peaks, Mt Beardstadt, Torreys, and Grays are all within minutes away.
